Here's the short and skinny of (another) story about another frustrating, sad, and unfortunately, still a common way of life for black Americans.
Jemel Roberson was doing his job early Sunday morning at Manny's Blue Room in the black suburb of Robbins, Illinois when a drunken patron who was kicked out with his rowdy group. The guy returned around 4 a.m. and opened fire, several people were shot.
Then, Jemel Roberson who was doing his job grabbed the shooter, subdued him and waited for the police to show up.
A black security guard was shot dead by a police officer as he held down a suspect in a shooting at the bar where he worked.
But when the police arrived, one police officer immediately shot Jemel Roberson who immediately died at the hospital.
Here's the sad irony, Jamel Roberson dreamt of being a police officer and ended up being murdered by one.
